🐾Shannon and Verco🐾

I’m proud to serve as both a puppy raiser and boarder for Guide Dogs of Texas — helping shape the future guide dogs who will one day transform someone’s independence.

As a first‑time puppy raiser, I welcomed Verco [a beautiful black labrador] at just 8 weeks old. After months of training, socialization, and confidence‑building, he graduated in May and is now thriving in advanced training in San Antonio. During our time together, we focused on building his skills, confidence, and real‑world experiences to prepare him for the life‑changing work of becoming a guide dog.

Since Verco’s graduation, I’ve continued supporting Guide Dogs of Texas by boarding puppies [Mac, Xylo and Winston] for other raisers. This gives raisers time to rest, travel and recharge while ensuring their puppies stay on track with training. It’s a wonderful way to stay involved and keep learning from these incredible dogs.

This Big Give, I’m raising funds for Guide Dogs of Texas to support puppies like Verco, Mac, Xylo and Winston throughout their journey. Guide Dogs of Texas provides professionally trained guide dogs at no cost to Texans who are blind or visually impaired. Every dollar directly supports puppies on their journey to becoming life‑changing partners.

Thank you for supporting this amazing mission and being part of our story.🐾
