As a four-time puppy raiser and current board member for Guide Dogs of Texas, Inc., I’ve had the privilege of helping prepare future guide dogs for lives of service. Now, I’m excited to introduce you to the newest chapter in that journey: Zane!
At just 14 weeks old, Zane is already showing the calm, confident temperament that may one day help him guide a person who is blind or visually impaired. He is determined to make his momma, Poppy, proud—and hopes she’ll be in the front row at his graduation, barking, “That’s my boy!”
Over the next 14 months, Zane will be by my side as we explore new places, sights, sounds, and experiences. My role is to earn his trust and help him learn to navigate the world with confidence. One day, that trust will become the foundation for the extraordinary bond between Zane and his future handler.
