Help Zelda Change a Life!

As a puppy raiser for Guide Dogs of Texas, I have the privilege of helping raise a future guide dog and I’d love to tell you a little about our journey!

Meet Zelda! She is a yellow Labrador Retriever born on 12.6.25. Zelda is the sweetest, gentle little girl! She is so incredibly smart and eager to always learn new things. Her food motivation is, real!! Zelda is also in frequent competition of who can snore the loudest. She is living with 3 other dogs and a cat. Her most favorite 4-legged companion is, Kona. I’m her most favorite 2-legged companion of course! She is hands down the best snuggler!  Zelda has gone on many adventures so far with us, including San Antonio (more times than I can count), Waco, Wichita Falls, Dallas, New Braunfels, Houston. I think her most favorite is Dallas when we went to Scheels. She was after my own heart loving a store that reminds me of home. 

As a puppy raiser, I help Zelda build the skills, confidence, and experiences they’ll need as they work toward becoming a guide dog.

Being a part of Zelda’s journey has humbled me in ways I never thought possible. She has retaught me patience most of all. As a mom to a special needs young adult, giving back to such a vulnerable community has always been dear to my heart. Being able to watch Zelda grow and learn has been incredibly rewarding and I am blessed to be a part of her story!

This Big Give, I’m raising funds for Guide Dogs of Texas to help support puppies like Zelda throughout their journey. Guide Dogs of Texas provides guide dogs at no cost to Texans who are blind or visually impaired.
