The Intake Department at Haven for Hope serves as the first point of contact for individuals and families seeking shelter and services. Our team is responsible for welcoming, assessing, and guiding new clients through the enrollment process with compassion, dignity, and respect.
We conduct comprehensive assessments to determine eligibility for various programs offered on campus, ensuring that each individual is matched with the most appropriate level of support. This includes verifying identification, conducting vulnerability screenings, and connecting clients to immediate shelter options when available.
With a strong commitment to access, equity, and collaboration, the Intake Department is the gateway to hope, healing, and transformation.
Haven for Hope is located in downtown San Antonio, and we are dedicated to empowering individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Since 2010, Haven has addressed the root causes of homelessness by offering programming tailored to the specific needs of the individual. Through a person-centered, trauma-informed approach, clients are offered a bed, warm meals, and access to numerous resources, including ID recovery, housing assistance, workforce development, counseling, classes, and other support services.
Haven partners with more than 75 agencies to help provide the resources our clients need to transform their lives out of homelessness. Haven clients also have access to a hair care center, a post office, a medical clinic, dental, and vision care. Since its inception, Haven for Hope has served more than 53,000 individuals.
Haven's goal for The Big Give is $112,000. Our team goal is $2,000. The funds will be used to further our mission and secure linens, mattresses, and other essentials we use for our clients. Every dollar is appreciated and guaranteed to go towards helping someone in need.
