My friends, it's Big Give time!
If you're excited to contribute to this widespread day of charitable giving, please support Haven for Hope.
TLDR: Haven for Hope is making an incredible and positive impact and needs your help to continue ending homelessness one family at a time!
Few causes elicit the same deep pang in me as homelessness, and the City of San Antonio aches with its presence. I have long been in love with the mission of Haven for Hope and its vision of ending homelessness by empowering individuals and families to transform their lives. In the three years that I have been a part of this mission, my love for this organization and my awe of its incredible work and the intention through which the work is being accomplished has only grown. Some days I feel so small, and the work ahead of us feels so vast. Then I'm working through a report and have the unique opportunity to see all of the small pieces come trickling together - the dots connect between every team's hardest days, and the story the data in front of me tells is so powerful. I am so grateful to be contributing to that work.
For the numbers people in the room....
Over the last 12 months, Haven has served an average of more than 1,300 clients per day and nearly 8,750 unduplicated clients in total, assisted with over 400 job placements, and contributed to nearly 1,000 individuals obtaining housing.
Haven has contributed to a 30% decrease in unsheltered homeless since 2010 in San Antonio - an even bigger accomplishment given the population of San Antonio has increased by 17% in that time
Haven has 45 on-site partner organizations as well as referral-based and community partners to provide the most robust suite of services possible to its clients.
Haven for Hope comprises nearly 74% of the homeless response system in Bexar County in terms of clients and data.
Haven for Hope is more than a shelter. It was the first campus of its size and kind in the nation, and is considered a model for effectiveness - inspiring other communities to break ground for similar interventions. For anyone interested, here's a brief documentary from Beyond Homeless that prominently features H4H in this respect.
So please consider giving today. Every single dollar makes a difference in transforming a life. ❤️
