Carabin Law is proud to join Thrive Youth Center for the Big Give and support its mission to provide safe housing, supportive services, and opportunities for LGBTQ+ young adults experiencing homelessness and housing instability.

Thrive Youth Center provides 78% of LGBTQ+ emergency shelter beds in Texas, operating 20 emergency shelter beds, 50 apartments, and wraparound services. In its most recent fiscal year, Thrive served 472 youth, provided 19,623 nights of emergency shelter, and delivered 14,051 supportive services to help young adults build stability and independence.

For LGBTQ+ youth, housing instability can happen for many reasons, including being pushed out of their homes after coming out or aging out of foster care without adequate support. Thrive provides more than a safe place to stay; they create an affirming environment where young people can heal, grow, and work toward their goals.

Bella is one example of what that support can make possible. When she arrived at Thrive, she focused on her healing and personal growth. With the stability of a safe, affirming place to stay and access to supportive services, Bella earned her high school diploma, began her college journey, and ultimately moved into her very first apartment. Her journey is a powerful reminder of what can happen when young people have the opportunity and support to build a future of their own.
