Four years ago, I started my journey with Big Brothers Big Sisters because I believed in the power of relationships. What I didn't realize then was that this organization would forever change my life.

Today, I proudly serve as the Program Director for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Comal and Guadalupe Counties. My commitment to this mission runs so deep that I moved four states away to continue my career with BBBS. Leaving behind family, friends, and everything familiar was not an easy decision, but I knew the impact we create for young people was worth it.

Every day, I have the privilege of witnessing something extraordinary. I see children who simply need someone in their corner. I meet parents who are doing everything they can but desperately want additional support for their child. I watch mentors show up consistently, proving that one caring adult can completely change the trajectory of a young person's life.

I've seen Littles gain confidence for the first time. I've watched shy children find their voice, struggling students discover their potential, and young people realize they are worthy of love, attention, and opportunity. These moments are not accidents. They happen because someone chose to invest in a child.

The truth is that every match starts with hope. Hope from a parent looking for support. Hope from a child longing for connection. Hope from a volunteer willing to make a difference. But hope alone isn't enough. It takes a community willing to stand behind these young people and say, "You matter."
