During my 10 years at CAMP, I have seen first-hand the impact made not only on our campers and their families, but our volunteers. I have witnessed volunteers as young as 15 caring for an individual with disabilities, assisting with their daily care needs, providing compassion, respect and encouragement, while creating a lasting friendship. I am honored to work for such an incredible organization that lets our campers know that they are not defined by their disability. I have seen campers on ventilators float in the pool and paddle a canoe. It's because of the incredible dedication of our healthcare professionals, volunteers, and staff who ensure the safety of each activity to ensure every camper can participate in each activity. Furthermore, while their children are at CAMP, parents receive a much-needed break from their 24/7 caregiving responsibilities, something that many never thought possible!
