Who We Are

Texas Public Radio is a nonprofit, multimedia public media organization operating seven radio stations that serve 39 counties across approximately 40,000 square miles of South-Central and West Texas. Our flagship stations, KSTX and KPAC, serve San Antonio and surrounding communities, while five additional stations reach audiences in the Hill Country, Highland Lakes, Del Rio, Gonzales, and Midland/Odessa regions. Together, TPR’s broadcast network reaches 3.8 million people, complemented by a digital presence available to anyone with broadband access. All TPR journalism is free and accessible without a paywall through our radio stations, website, mobile app, social media platforms, newsletters, and original podcasts.

On July 1, 2026, Texas Public Radio and the San Antonio Report consolidated operations to strengthen local journalism and create a more sustainable future for independent news in one of the nation’s fastest-growing regions. By combining resources, expertise, and reporting capacity, this strategic partnership expands coverage, increases efficiency, and enables more stories to reach more people—always free of charge.
