ABOUT CAP

The Community of Automotive Professionals has been bringing San Antonio’s automotive community together to change lives through reliable transportation, education, and opportunity.

When a vehicle stops running, life does not stop with it.

A parent can miss work, a student can lose access to school, and a family can struggle to make medical appointments or meet everyday responsibilities. For someone already facing financial hardship, one unexpected repair can become a barrier to stability.

That is where CAP steps in.

We unite automotive repair shops, technicians, educators, businesses, volunteers, and nonprofit partners to help individuals and families regain dependable transportation.

We also invest in automotive education and scholarships, helping students develop practical skills and build meaningful careers in the industry.

Through CAP and CarFest, the automotive community has repaired vehicles for 168 individuals and families, invested more than $600,000 in scholarships for Texas automotive technical programs, collaborated with 98 nonprofit organizations and repair shops, and engaged more than 2,100 volunteers.

In 2026 alone, our partners completed 10 life-changing vehicle repairs valued at more than $102,000—helping community members return to work, school, appointments, and the people who depend on them.

Your gift during The Big Give helps create a way forward for the next person facing a transportation barrier.

Whether it helps purchase a critical vehicle part, support a necessary repair, or equip a future automotive professional, your donation turns the resources and expertise of the automotive community into greater independence, stability, and opportunity.
