AVANCE - San Antonio, Inc.

AVANCE began right here in San Antonio with a powerful belief: parents are their children’s first and most important teachers, and home is the first classroom.

When families join AVANCE, they become part of a community that walks alongside them as they learn, grow, and build toward their goals. Children develop a lifelong love of learning while parents strengthen their confidence, expand their opportunities, and create brighter futures for their families.

And that connection does not end when a program does. Once you are part of the AVANCE familia, you are part of us for generations to come.

This Big Give, you can be part of that journey. Your gift helps parents and children learn and grow side by side, strengthening families and building a San Antonio where every child and parent has the opportunity to thrive.

Who We Are

Founded in San Antonio in 1973, AVANCE walks alongside parents and their children to break cycles of poverty through high-quality, innovative two-generation education.

Our programs support the whole family at every stage. Through early childhood education, parenting support, workforce development, financial education, and pathways to college, families gain the knowledge, skills, relationships, and resources they need to reach their fullest potential.

At the heart of our work is the belief that parents are their children’s first teachers and home is the first classroom. Many members of our team began their own journeys as AVANCE participants and now serve as educators, mentors, and role models for the next generation of families.

By helping parents and children move forward together, AVANCE creates opportunities that extend beyond one classroom or one program. We strengthen families, build community, and create change that can be felt for generations.
