Alamo Heights Animal Care Services (AHACS) is a small municipal animal care agency dedicated to protecting and caring for the animals in our community.

We may be small, but every animal that comes through our door matters.

When an animal is found in Alamo Heights, we take responsibility for their care. From providing food and enrichment to arranging veterinary care, boarding, vaccinations, preventatives, microchipping, and everything they need while we work toward finding them a loving home.

Unlike larger shelters, AHACS does not have a traditional facility to house our dogs. We rely on boarding facilities, foster homes, adopters, volunteers, and the generosity of our community to help us care for them.

That's where you come in.
