West Avenue Compassion

West Avenue Compassion's mission is to meet the immediate needs of our community, while providing the resources to help them MOVE FORWARD. We accomplish our mission during these trying times through the generosity of our San Antonio Community and volunteers. WAC provides food assistance to more than 450 families per week and offers English as a Second Language classes, GED training, a community resource hub, a community garden, and an education partnership with Larkspur Elementary School. We count it a privilege to be good neighbors in these ways.  

Who We Are

West Avenue Compassion's mission is to "Meet the immediate needs of our community while furnishing them the tools to MOVE FORWARD". We have been working diligently in our community for the past 17 years, meeting the immediate needs of our families with a weekly food distribution. In an effort to help those in our community MOVE FORWARD, we host a robust community resource hub every Tuesday where families can find the resources they need to help them not just survive, but to also thrive.
