Project Transformation Rio Texas

$1,620 raised by 13 donors

The lasting impact of our programs comes through the strong relationships that are built between the children, our college interns, and our church and community.

Project Transformation inspires change in three distinct ways:

  1. Community-oriented, after school and summer day camps with literacy-focused programming for children from under-resourced neighborhoods.
  2. Leadership development and service-oriented career exploration opportunities for college age young adults through summer and one-year service internships.
  3. Mutually beneficial relationships develop between church and community members and then children and college students who interact with them daily as reading buddies and meal providers.

Our young adult interns lead our programs, giving them authentic, hands-on experiences facilitating high-quality, structured programs for children and equally important, learning from the children in the program.

Our programs are strategically housed in churches in under-resourced communities. This partnership between the site churches and Project Transformation is designed so that churches can make new connections and form meaningful relationships of mutuality with families in their immediate neighborhood.
