Hill Country Crisis Council

For 40 years, Hill Country Crisis Council has been a place of refuge and hope for those whose lives are torn apart by violence and abuse. Every day, children, women, and men walk through our doors carrying stories of fear and pain, but they do not have to walk alone. At HCCC, they are met with safety, compassion, and the resources needed to begin again.

Through The Red Doors, our emergency shelter, survivors find immediate refuge from danger. At Kids’ Advocacy Place, children impacted by abuse receive specialized care, forensic interviews, and advocacy in a safe, child-centered environment. Through The Steps program, families and individuals access non-residential services such as counseling, crisis intervention, advocacy, and safety planning, all designed to break the cycle of violence and support long-term healing.

Serving Kerr, Kendall, Bandera, Gillespie, and Kimble counties, our team makes an extraordinary impact each year: nearly 300 forensic interviews for children, more than 2,000 hours of trauma-informed therapy, support for over 250 families, and safe shelter for adults and children fleeing violence.

Our mission is clear and urgent: to stop the cycle of intimate partner violence, sexual assault, and child abuse through education, intervention, and assistance. Hill Country Crisis Council has been dedicated to fighting intimate partner violence, sexual assault, human trafficking and child abuse for 36 years.
