Helotes Humane Society

For 18 years, the Helotes Humane Society has been dedicated to a singular mission: providing for the benevolent treatment of companion animals and fostering community awareness through humane education. What began as a grassroots effort in 2008 has grown into a vital lifeline that has rescued and rehomed more than 7,000 animals.

Our community-focused programs include a lost and found network, low-cost microchipping, public adoption events, and youth educational outreach. Our work is sustained in part by the Second Chances Thrift Shop, an all-volunteer, donation-driven store where every purchase directly benefits the animals in our care.

At our core, we believe in the power of community—because the Helotes Humane Society is truly people helping animals.
