From Vision to Vital Programs

Headwaters at the Comal has undergone a remarkable transformation—from a retired utility yard to a premier environmental and cultural education center. Your past support helped us make great progress in transforming the warehouse building into the Center at the Headwaters, a place for learning and community. Now we are ready to welcome more visitors to this extraordinary space!

Headwaters mission to connect the community to nature by showcasing the significance of the Comal Springs.  This conservation legacy project will focus on expanding and enhancing programs that will help visitors understand the unique beauty of the Texas Hill Country. Join us in this exciting new chapter, and help us connect more people to nature and the Comal Springs.

Help Us Bring the Center to Life

We need your support to sustain and grow the programs that connect people to nature, water, and the deep cultural history of this site.  Your gift will help fund high-quality experiences for learners of all ages:

  • Saturday Science Engineering Art & Math Series, bring complex topics to life in a hands-on, nature-oriented experience.
  • Water Watchers Field Trips, perfect for school groups and bringing science to life for elementary age learners.
  • Pre-K Nature Adventure Series, a popular new activity for our youngest learners exploring the great outdoors.
  • Conservation Classes, cover topics including native plants, low-impact development, and DIY rain barrel workshops.
  • Community Science based learning opportunities, water quality testing, bird & butterfly monitoring, seed collection, composting, tree-care and much more.

Be a part of the solution!

This is more than a building—it's a movement.  Help us turn the new space into a hub of learning, stewardship, and connection.  Your support makes it all possible!
