Our programs nurture the physical and social-emotional health of girls in 3rd-8th.

Who We Are

Fifteen years ago, a small but determined nonprofit planted its flag in Bexar County with a simple and powerful mission: help girls discover their strength through perseverance, community, and self-belief. Now, our name is catching up with our community: Girls on the Bexar County has become Girls on the Run South Central Texas. Today, Girls on the Run South Central Texas marks its 15th anniversary (our Quinceañera!) with nearly 9,000 girls served, a growing network of volunteer coaches, and a new regional name that reflects just how far that mission has traveled. Girls on the Run South Central Texas proudly serves Atascosa, Bandera, Bexar, Comal, Guadalupe, Hays, Kendall, Kerr, Medina, and Wilson Counties.

Our after school programs are held twice a week for 10 weeks and coincides with the school semesters; we have a fall and spring season.

The cost of the program is $175 per girl, but we never turn a participant away based on financial need. We offer scholarships for any girl who is not able to pay. 

What your donations provides:

$225- Fuel Her Future! Provide healthy snack for a team of 15 girls

$175- Sponsors one girl for one season (20 lessons, materials, and 5K experience)

$75- Supports a positive and uplifting 5K experience for one girl and her running buddy

$50- Shoes and Program Shirt for one girl

$20- Provide curriculum and coach supplies for our volunteer coaches
