Blue Skies of Texas, formerly known as Air Force Village, is a non-profit life plan community located in San Antonio, Texas, with two campuses: East and West. Originally established for retired military officers, we now welcome qualified seniors from all backgrounds, honoring military service but not requiring it. We provide a full continuum of care, including independent living, assisted living, memory care, skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and hospice services
Founded in 1961 by Mrs. Helen LeMay, wife of Air Force General Curtis LeMay, the community initially served Air Force widows. Over the decades, it evolved into an open-enrollment life plan community with a strong military heritage.
Both campuses are CARF-accredited, a distinction held by only 17% of U.S. continuing care communities, ensuring high standards of quality and service.
The 2026 Big Give Campaign is dedicated to our WELLNESS UPGRADED Fund.
At Blue Skies of Texas, we’re redefining wellness with a state-of-the-art facility that brings fitness and rehabilitation together under one roof. This integration encourages healthy habits, with physical therapists supporting regular gym use and expanded opportunities for movement.
A dedicated fitness classroom eliminates scheduling conflicts, allowing for more classes and flexible times. Our larger footprint, higher ceilings, and new windows create an open, inviting space filled with natural light, offering extra room to spread out. With advanced air filtration, UV lighting for infection control, and a dedicated massage area, this upgrade is more than just an enhancement—it’s a lasting investment in health, comfort, and an active lifestyle.
