National Capital Flight #4

Partner with us to support the Daedalian Foundation in its mission to provide matching funds to our ROTC Scholarship awardees and reimbursements to our Civil Air Patrol cadets at their Summer Flight Academy and grow the Daedalian Flight #4!

On May 12, 2026, the United State Air Force welcomed its latest Second Lieutenant, Lukas Beisner. Lt. Beisner commissioned out of Detachment 130 Air Force ROTC at George Washington University in Washington, D.C. He earned a pilot slot and is training to earn his wings. Support from National Capital Flight #4’s scholarship programs helped him accumulate the flight hours that contributed to his pilot application package.

Our flight members continue to provide mentorship and support on his journey to the cockpit as he joins the latest generation of military aviators. Daedalians has continued to support our Founders' commitment to excellence in airmanship, service above self, and love of country.

On August 7th, 2026, Civil Air Patrol Cadet/Lt Col Gabrielle M. of the Mary S. Feik, Comp. Sq., Annapolis, MD wrote the following testimonial about her experience at the Robert Ayres National Flight Academy this past summer made possible by Flight 4 and the Daedalian Foundation financial support.

“During the week, not only was ground school emphasized, but the program gave me real, hands-on time in the cockpit with the help of the numerous flight instructors. This opportunity ultimately provided the resources, instruction, structure, and flight hours necessary to achieve my first solo flight and pass the FAA Private Pilot Knowledge Test, truly launching my aviation journey. Looking ahead, my plans for the future are to earn my Private Pilot License and pursue a career in aerospace. Thank you for your incredible support.”

This year, National Capital Flight has two primary goals for The Big Give:

(1) Receive $2500 of support from 10 or more donors to support scholarship program growth.



(2) Expand support for Civil Air Patrol cadets at their Summer Flight Academy.

National Capital Flight #4 is located in the Washington, D.C. region. The flight typically meets on the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Spates Community Club Annex, JB Myer-Henderson Hall from September to June and hosts a distinguished lineup of guests and speakers each year. Flight 4 has a robust scholarship program and flight endowment, presents JROTC medals to local high school JROTC students, and supports student flight training opportunities through our partnership with Civil Air Patrol.
