Eagle Flight #39

Invest in Flight #39 and help recruit more members to execute the Daedalian mission in our local community!

Eagle Flight #39 has achieved a hat-trick of flying success! Our flight has scored three straight wins in supporting students on the path from runway to scholarship to service, representing the spirit of our flight.  

GOAL 1
Cadet 1st Lt Chloe Ferguson wrapped up her 2026 Daedalian Flying Training experience with her solo flight. With ideal conditions, Cadet Ferguson took to the skies flying a Diamond DA20-C1, Tail N548DC. Displaying great flying - steady, confident, and precise – she reached her solo at the 17-hours mark and with seeming ease slipped the bounds of gravity & weight. 

GOAL 2
2025 Egan Scholarship Winner Mattie James successfully recertified for a second year of recognition. This 2024 DFT student continues to shine at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University. On top of her substantial Egan Award for 2026, she has recently signed on with Navy ROTC.

GOAL 3
Leslie “Pinky” Melton, our 2025 DFT solo flyer has continued their aviation journey. Through a sponsored USAF pilot program at Purdue University, Cadet Captain Melton flew the C-172, finishing with 47 hours and a PPL and embarks on their next journey as a Perry High School senior!

Since our first flier in 2015, Flight #39’s standard of excellence in our programs has set the example for all Daedalians and our flights, as we instill our legacy in the next generation of military aviators.

Eagle Flight #39 is located near Robins AFB, Georgia, home to the 78th Air Base Wing and the Museum of Aviation. Founded by Col. Ken Clark, a WWII veteran who flew the P-38, our members typically meet the 3rd Wednesday of the month. At the heart of our flight is a commitment to creating more moments where young aviators lift from the runway to enter the quiet above, where skill meets courage and the horizon becomes infinite. Our dedication to excellence and mentorship of tomorrow’s aviators in our Daedalian educational programs carries forward our legacy of discipline, mentorship, and mission.
