Arkansas Traveler Flight #44

Support Flight #44 in its quest to provide funding assistance to eligible Daedalian flight training candidates!

Small but mighty Arkansas Traveler Flight #44 is actively pursuing growth of our Daedalian flight training footprint in the local Little Rock area. We are working with an aviation school associated with a college to open up opportunities for ambitious ROTC and academy candidates eager to grow their flying experience on the path to wings.

As a small flight, this is a key fundraising opportunity for us to grow our war chest of funding assistance for Daedalian educational programs. The more funds we have, the more we can expand opportunities to grow and activate our membership as we engage eligible students pursuing flying experiences and mentorship on their military aviation career journey.

This year, Arkansas Traveler’s Flight has two primary goals:

1. Expanding our support for military-minded individuals in Arkansas expressing interest in becoming military aviation
2. Getting butts in seats to support those students as we grow our bench of members working to execute the Daedalian mission

Arkansas Traveler Flight #44 is located proximate to Little Rock AFB, Arkansas and meets at 1730, third Thursdays of the month at Hangar 1080 on base. Our flight is named for the famed World War II Lockheed P-38J Lighting fighter aircraft flown by Arkansas native, Lt. James Owen Fincher. In his P-38J, Serial Number 44-23511 with its famous Arkansas Traveler nose art, Lt. Fincher flew 62 combat missions in the European theater as a member of the 392nd Fighter Squadron, 367th Fighter Group, 9th Air Force. 

Lt. Fincher demonstrated the commitment to service, patriotism, and courage our Founders exemplified. Flight #44 looks forward to instilling that same Daedalian spirit and set of values in the fliers of tomorrow as we expand our flight training programs.
