Keep Hope Ringing

🔔 There’s a doorbell at Haven for Hope that means more to me than just about any notification our IT systems could generate.

Over the last few years, our IT team has spent a lot of time modernizing Haven’s technology, strengthening security, replacing aging infrastructure, automating processes, and building systems that allow our staff to work more securely and effectively.

This year, as IT Director, I get to lead the next chapter of that work as we continue consolidating and modernizing the technology behind our mission.

But here’s the thing...

None of this is really about technology.

Nobody comes to Haven because they need a better firewall.

They come because they need help.

Technology is simply one of the tools that helps the incredible people at Haven provide it.

Our job behind the scenes is to make sure a case manager can access the information they need. That an outreach team can communicate. That client information stays protected. That systems are available when our staff needs them.

Most of that work happens quietly.

But every once in a while...

the doorbell rings. 🔔

At Haven, that bell rings across campus when someone we serve moves into a home of their own.

People stop.

We clap. We cheer.

And suddenly all those invisible pieces behind the mission connect to something very real:

Someone is going home. 🏠❤️

The Big Give is coming, and this year I’m asking my friends, family, colleagues, partners, and community to help me keep that doorbell ringing.
