The Bulverde Spring Branch Activity Center (BSBAC) was established in 1991 to provide services to seniors age 50 and above. Our mission is to facilitate active aging and enhance the quality of life for older adults in our communities.
BSBAC addresses the challenges of malnutrition, food insecurity, social isolation, and physical inactivity through three programs.
Nutritional/Outreach/Transportation Programs, Health & Wellness Programs, Social Activities
Our collaboration with Meals on Wheels serves our homebound clients with
a daily meal Monday through Friday, as well as a daily check-in as the volunteer driver may be the only
person a Meals on Wheels client may have contact with daily. This contact allows us to
keep a pulse on any needs clients may have. In 2024, we delivered 19,921 meals to our clients through Meals on
Wheels. Through Pets on Wheels, Meals on Wheels clients with pets receive food
for their pets as well. Since seniors sometimes give their food to their pets
and go without, Pets on Wheels ensures that seniors can be at ease knowing their
pet is cared for also.
Here at the Center, we like to provide a 'Home Away from Home'; where older adults can socialize, meet friends, exercise, eat, play games, and most importantly...have fun!
Currently, we have 1,395 members with an average daily attendance of 300+! The Center is full of energy and activities daily, and we love seeing our members enjoy aging.

Since 1991, the Bulverde Spring Branch Activity Center (BSBAC) has actively pursued its mission to facilitate active aging and enhance the quality of life for seniors in Bulverde, and surrounding communities. In 2017, the activity center provided social activities, educational opportunities, fitness programs, daily meals, transportation, and access to information and services to over 600 community seniors.
Through the Meals on Wheels program, our invaluable volunteers successfully delivered more than 14,000 lunches to homebound seniors. These lunches aid in reducing food insecurity in our community; for some seniors, the daily lunch may be their only nutritious meal of the day.
BSBAC is not funded by local or federal taxes, but rather rely entirely on sponsorships, donations, and fundraisers. We could not serve our seniors effectively without the help of volunteers and other community partners.
