Texas Grandparents Raising Grandchildren (TXGRG) advocates for and empowers grandparents and kinship caregivers who step up to raise children when parents cannot. These caregivers often take on this responsibility unexpectedly, navigating financial hardship, legal challenges, complicated benefit systems, and the everyday costs of raising children, sometimes with very little support.

TXGRG makes sure they do not have to do it alone.

In 2026, the need for our services continues to grow. TXGRG connects families across Texas with individualized resource coordination, emergency assistance, support groups, caregiver education, advocacy, community resources, and opportunities for families to connect and thrive.

Sometimes that means helping a grandmother keep the utilities on. Sometimes it means groceries, school clothes, legal resources, or guidance through benefits. Other times, it simply means having someone answer the phone who understands and can help a caregiver figure out what comes next.

Through support groups, community partnerships, advocacy, and signature events like our Healthy Grandfamilies Conference, Grandfamilies & Kinship Picnics, and Christmas Luncheon, TXGRG is building a community where kinship families are seen, supported, and celebrated.
