AAMC projects that we will be short 90,000 physicians by 2036, which primarily affect the sickest patients, especially in underserved areas.
Medical school teaches medicine, we are trying to solve the problem of physician shortage by keeping graduates in Texas and improving access to care. The reality of the situation is, directing students to medical school isn’t enough. We want to provide them with the tools and support to successfully stay in medicine and want to stay in medicine.
Through our powerful mentorship program designed for pre-medical and medical students, we connect the students with local seasoned mentors who understand the challenges of a demanding career in medicine and who guide them in developing habits for sustainable career.
But mentorship isn’t just about supporting students—it’s about investing in the future of Texas healthcare. By keeping these connections local, we’re encouraging future doctors to stay, serve, and strengthen the communities they come from. Every donation directly funds mentorship pairings, resources for student well-being, and outreach efforts to grow this network.
With your support, we can continue to equip Texas’ future physicians with the tools they need to thrive,
Additional funding would enable us to increase one-on-one mentorship opportunities, host more educational seminars with physicians, and provide critical resources to pre-med students, especially those from underserved communities. As part of the 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, The Patient Institute, we have the structure and support to be a lasting influence on the next generation of Texas physicians. Join us in shaping the future of medicine in Texas—your contribution today will help us inspire the next generation to care, serve, and stay in Texas for years to come. Your contribution will not only help us build a larger, stronger community of future doctors but also ensure that they enter the field with confidence, well-rounded experience, and a commitment to serve the Texas community.
Join us in supporting these future doctors on their path . Together, we can create a healthcare workforce that reflects the diversity, resilience, and compassion of our communities.
