Neurospicy SA

Neurospicy SA is building a San Antonio where no neurodivergent adult has to face life alone.

Social isolation hits neurodivergent adults especially hard. Once someone ages out of school, the built-in peer groups and support systems disappear — leaving fewer people who understand how they communicate, and fewer places to simply be themselves without masking.

San Antonio has resources for neurodivergent children — early diagnosis, therapy, school-based support. But those systems largely end at adulthood, and what exists for adults tends to be therapy-focused, expensive, and diagnosis-gated. Neurospicy SA is something San Antonio hasn't had before: a free, peer-led community built specifically for neurodivergent adults (18+) — autistic, ADHD, AuDHD, OCD, and beyond — with no formal diagnosis required to belong. We recognize that barriers to assessment (cost, access, long waitlists) can keep people from ever getting a diagnosis in the first place, and we don't let that stand between someone and community.

Founder Meredith Marks — who is autistic and lives with OCD and bipolar disorder — started these gatherings after a group home that once gave her a sense of belonging shut its doors. Rather than let that connection disappear, she built something new for the adults so often left out of the conversation.

Neurospicy SA directly tackles isolation by giving neurodivergent adults consistent, low-barrier ways to connect — multiple times a week, not once in a while. Programs include:

• Adult Socials – building genuine friendships in safe, judgment-free spaces
• Common Ground Peer Group – shared experience and mutual support, no masking required
• ND Navigation Coaching – one-on-one, peer-led coaching toward independence
• Neurospicy Networking – professional connections built for neurodivergent adults
• Special Events & Neurospicers On Air – creative outlets and a growing community voice
